Device display and beeps

Each machine carries a device (Lucky Device) with a small two-line screen and a buzzer. The screen tells the player and the staff what the machine is doing; the beeps let you follow the money without looking at the screen. The screen texts are in French, in capitals and without accents: they are quoted here exactly as shown, with an English explanation.

When everything is fine, the screen shows:

Line What it shows
1st line The machine number in the venue, then two indicators: S (the machine answers the device) and N (the venue server is reached). A lowercase letter (s, n) means the link is down. As long as the machine has no number, the line shows « SMIB ».
2nd line The machine credit, with the venue currency (for example 125 000 Ar). « credit — »: the credit is not read yet. « MACHINE MUETTE » (machine silent): the machine no longer answers the device.

On a pulse machine where the credit waits on the device (the player brings it down with the Transfer button), the 1st line shows the currency and the amount, the 2nd « Credit » and the number of machine credits.

As long as the machine is not ready, the 1st line says the current step, the 2nd says who: the device code (« ID » followed by the code also shown in the back office) or, on a machine that was already running, its credit.

Screen What it means What to do
PAS DE RESEAU (no network) The network cable is not plugged in or the network does not answer. Check the cable.
ATTENTE ADRESSE (waiting for address) The device is waiting for its address on the venue network. Wait; if it lasts, call your technician.
CHERCHE SERVEUR (looking for server) The device is looking for the venue server. Wait; the venue server must be on.
CONNEXION… (connecting) The device is connecting to the server. Wait.
SERVEUR REFUSE (server refused) The server refused the device. Call your technician.
A ADOPTER (to adopt) The device is waiting to be linked to a machine. Adopt it in Pending devices.

At start-up, the screen shows « Lucky Touch » and the device version; when the device receives its address, it shows it for a few seconds with « IP PAR DHCP » (address given by the network); when it finds the server, « SERVEUR TROUVE » (server found). After adoption: « ADOPTE » then « redemarrage… » (adopted, restarting).

PUCE ID / « ILLISIBLE » The device could not read its identity chip: call your technician.
ERREUR MEMOIRE / « pilote pulse » The device of a pulse machine cannot start its driver: nothing moves; call your technician.

The beeps form a short language: rising = it arrives, falling = it leaves or is missing, low and repeated = alarm, trill = “it’s me”. A state sound plays only when the state changes, never in a loop; a fault that lasts is repeated at a set interval (Buzzer : rappel d’une panne qui dure). A money sound is never cut by an information sound.

The Buzzer des boîtiers setting chooses what you hear: Silence, L’essentiel (the essentials: money, faults, “Faire sonner”) or Tout (everything, the default). In silence, “Faire sonner” does not ring: the screen only shows « C’EST MOI ».
