My approval code

The approval code is a 6-digit code, different from your PIN, that only you know. Nobody can read it, not even the administrator. It is used for two things:

  • at the register, authorising the declaration of a manual payment without a signal from the machine: the cashier chooses your name, then you type your code. This action is reserved for an operations manager (administrator, operations or supervisor), never the person declaring (see Manual payments);
  • in the mobile app, on a phone without biometrics, confirming a sensitive action done in the venue (see Approve from your phone).

The screen is not in the main menu: click your name, at the bottom of the menu, then Mon code de validation (My approval code). It only exists in the back office of the venue: the code never leaves the venue.

The État (Status) block says: posé (set), pas encore posé (not set yet), bloqué jusqu’au … (blocked until …), or votre rôle ne valide pas (your role does not approve).

  1. Enter Mon mot de passe (My password): it confirms that it really is you (never the PIN).
  2. To change an existing code, also enter Mon code actuel (My current code).
  3. Enter the Nouveau code · 6 chiffres (New code · 6 digits) (different from your PIN, not too simple), then Nouveau code, encore (New code, again).
  4. Click Poser mon code (Set my code) (or Changer mon code, Change my code).

The action is recorded in the audit log (« code posé / changé », code set / changed), never the code itself. The fields are cleared after each submission.

After several wrong attempts, the code is blocked for a while: the screen shows « Code bloqué » (Code blocked) with the end time. A blocked or forgotten code cannot be reset by yourself:

  1. Ask the administrator to reset it: Users → your account → Remettre à zéro son code de validation… (Reset their approval code…).
  2. Come back to Mon code de validation (My approval code) and set a new one with your password.

In the meantime, another manager approves in your place.
