Link a tablet, its ceiling

A tablet is not a register: it is an extension of your register, with no float. It credits machines within the ceiling you grant it, and its cash comes back to your drawer through a hand-in that you count. This page is read from the main register; for the other side, see Working on the tablet.

In the navigation bar, tap Tablettes (Tablets).

The screen reads from top to bottom: Remises à confirmer (Hand-ins to confirm: the money being handed to you comes first), Mes tablettes (My tablets), Action sur la tablette choisie (Action on the chosen tablet), Tablettes libres (Free tablets), Tenues dans ce service (Held during this service), then Délier de force (Force unlink) (operations).

  1. In Tablettes libres (Free tablets), find the tablet by the name of the person holding it.
  2. Tap Lier à ma caisse (Link to my register). It moves to Mes tablettes and disappears from the screen of the other registers: only you grant it a ceiling.
  3. Grant it a ceiling (below): linked at zero, it cannot credit anything yet.

A tablet whose main register has been closed reappears among the free tablets marked “caisse mère clôturée” (parent register closed): link it to take it back. Each tablet shows its state (“En attente de rattachement”, Waiting to be linked, “Rattachée à la caisse de Caissière A”, Linked to Caissière A’s register, “Plafond gelé par la caisse de Caissière A”, Ceiling frozen by Caissière A’s register…) and four amounts: Accordé (Granted), Consommé (Used), Disponible (Available), Espèces collectées (Cash collected).

  1. In Mes tablettes, tap the tablet to choose it.
  2. Under Action sur la tablette choisie, tap Accorder un plafond (Grant a ceiling), Augmenter (Raise) or Diminuer (Lower).
  3. The flow opens: Tablette → Montant → Vérifier → Verdict (Tablet → Amount → Check → Verdict). The amount offered is the venue’s “Plafond tablette proposé” (Suggested tablet ceiling) setting; correct it on the keypad.
  4. At the verdict, the tablet is told straight away and sees its new ceiling.

The same flow opens from the Plafond tablette (Tablet ceiling) operation on the main screen. A ceiling never goes below what the tablet has already used.

Geler (Freeze) cuts the tablet’s power to credit without unlinking it (flow Tablette → Vérifier → Verdict, button Geler le plafond, Freeze the ceiling): “La tablette de Caissière B ne peut plus créditer. Caissière B voit « plafond gelé » à l’étape Vérifier.” (Caissière B’s tablet can no longer credit. Caissière B sees “ceiling frozen” at the Check step.) Dégeler (Unfreeze) gives it back. Also available from the Geler une tablette (Freeze a tablet) operation on the main screen. Only you, the main register holding the tablet, can freeze or unfreeze its ceiling; the tablet sees its credits refused with “Plafond gelé par l’exploitation : aucun crédit n’est possible depuis cette tablette.” (Ceiling frozen by operations: no credit is possible from this tablet. Default wording, adjustable in Register wording.)

When the tablet requests its hand-in, a Remise à confirmer (Hand-in to confirm) notification appears. Until you have confirmed, this amount is not in your drawer: it is shown separately, “hors tiroir” (off-drawer).

  1. Take the banknotes handed to you by the tablet’s holder.
  2. Open Tablettes (or tap the notification). Under Remises à confirmer, tap Confirmer la remise (Confirm the hand-in).
  3. The Compté (Counted) field is pre-filled with the amount Déclaré par la tablette (Declared by the tablet). Count the banknotes and correct the counted amount if it does not match.
  4. If the two differ, the difference is shown clearly (“Manque 5 000 Ar”, Short 5,000 Ar, or “Surplus 2 000 Ar”, Surplus 2,000 Ar) and a note becomes required (5 to 200 characters): say what is missing or what is extra.
  5. Tap Confirmer la remise · 265 000 Ar (Confirm the hand-in · 265,000 Ar). That is the moment the money goes into your drawer. The hand-in receipt (declared · counted · variance · note) is printed; a print failure appears in Printing.

Nothing blocks a hand-in with a variance: the note is enough. Your drawer receives the counted amount; the variance stays on the tablet’s account until operations adjusts it in the back office (see Tablets in the back office). While it is open, the tablet can be neither unlinked nor settled, and your closing is refused.

Refuse a hand-in: tap Refuser (Refuse), write the reason (at least 3 characters, the tablet sees it), then Refuser la remise (Refuse the hand-in). No money moves: the cash stays on the tablet’s account, and it can request again. Annuler le refus (Cancel the refusal) goes back.

Unlinking frees the tablet for another register. It must first be settled, in this order:

  1. Diminuer (Lower) its ceiling down to what it has used.
  2. The tablet requests its hand-in, and you confirm it.
  3. Tap Délier (Unlink) on its line: the tablet becomes visible to the other registers again.

A tablet that has not handed everything back can be force-unlinked, by operations, with a reason.

Who can: AdministratorOperationsSupervisor

  1. In Délier de force (Force unlink), write the reason (at least 5 characters): without it, no force unlink is offered.
  2. A manager identifies on your device (“Action réservée à l’exploitation” (Action reserved for operations) → S’identifier (Identify) → Élever (Elevate)).
  3. They choose Délier de force la tablette de Caissière B (Force unlink Caissière B’s tablet).

Once force-unlinked, the tablet keeps its cash: it can neither hand it in nor end its service until a register has linked it again. The money stays visible and recorded; the reason is attached to the ledger.

Tenues dans ce service (Held during this service) lists all the tablets you held, even those given back: your register’s report keeps the credits made under your authority. Before closing, each linked tablet must be settled (ceiling brought back to what was used, hand-in confirmed): see X report and closing.
