Sign in and open the register

The register app opens on the sign-in screen. A main register then opens its day by counting its float; a tablet and a floor attendant open nothing.

The screen shows the CAISSE (REGISTER) logo, then, at the top, the Serveur de la salle (Venue server) and two choices: Mot de passe (Password) or Code PIN (PIN code).

  1. Check the line under the form: it names the venue server and says prêt (ready). If it says injoignable (unreachable) or “Serveur de la salle non défini” (Venue server not set), tap Trouver le serveur de la salle (Find the venue server) (see below).
  2. Choose Mot de passe, enter your Identifiant (Username) and then your Mot de passe (Password). On the keyboard, Enter moves from one to the other.
  3. Tap Se connecter (Sign in). Or choose Code PIN and type your 6 digits on the keypad.
  4. If you already have an open register, it is taken back as it was. Otherwise, the Ouverture de journée (Day opening) screen opens.

The PIN identifies its holder: if you type a colleague’s PIN, it is their account that opens. Check the name shown at the bottom of the screen once you are signed in.

The device remembers the venue server. If the server has changed address (new router, PC restarted) or if the field is empty:

  1. Tap Trouver le serveur de la salle (Find the venue server). The button shows “Recherche…” (Searching…).
  2. One server answers: the line “Serveur trouvé” (Server found) appears and the field fills in. Several answer: “Plusieurs serveurs répondent — choisissez celui de la salle” (Several servers answer — choose the venue’s one); tap the right one. None: “Aucun serveur trouvé sur ce réseau” (No server found on this network) — check that the device is on the venue network, then call your technician.
  3. Sign in as usual.

Get your register back after the app was closed

Section titled “Get your register back after the app was closed”

Closing the app (power cut, battery, device restarted) does not close the register. When the app opens again, the Déverrouiller (Unlock) screen offers “Reprendre la caisse de …” (Resume the register of …) (or “Reprendre la tablette de …”, Resume the tablet of …):

  1. Type your 6-digit code.
  2. The register reloads as it was: same drawer, same operations in progress. An order sent before the app closed carries on at the server; its verdict arrives on screen.
  3. Not you? Tap Ce n’est pas moi — utiliser le mot de passe (Not me — use the password) (on a tablet: Ce n’est pas moi — changer d’utilisateur, Not me — switch user).

The Déverrouiller screen appears only if you used the register recently; after the delay set by the venue, the full sign-in is asked again.

The Ouverture de journée (Day opening) screen goes through three steps: Billettage (Cash count), Vérifier (Check), Ouverte (Open).

  1. Billettage du fond de caisse (Float cash count): for each denomination, type the quantity of notes on the keypad (or on the keyboard). The table works out the sous-total (subtotal) of each line and the Total compté (Total counted).
  2. Tap Vérifier le billettage (Check the cash count).
  3. Vérifiez le fond compté (Check the counted float): the number of denominations entered, the Total compté and the opening time. A mistake? Recompter (Count again) goes back to the cash count.
  4. Tap Ouvrir la caisse (Open the register).
  5. Caisse ouverte (Register open): the Fond d’ouverture (Opening float) is shown, and the opening receipt prints. Tap Aller à la caisse (Go to the register) (or Réimprimer le ticket, Reprint the receipt, if the receipt did not come out).

An open register stays yours until it is closed: you cannot open a second one, and restarting the app never creates a new register. You sign out after closing: see X report and closing.
