Devices

A device (Lucky Device) is plugged into each machine: it carries out the venue’s orders and reports back what the machine did. A device is made of a plate, which carries its identity, and a plug-in board that keeps the machine’s memory. The board follows the plate: if you swap a faulty board on the same plate, the plate finds its machine again on its own; a board reused in another plate empties itself.

The Boîtiers (Devices) screen has three tabs: Inventaire (Inventory), Profils d’enrôlement (Enrolment profiles) and Clés AFT (AFT keys) (the last two are used for adoption: see Adding machines).

One row per adopted device: Machine, Boîtier (Device: its identifier), its addressing (DHCP, statique (static) if the device fell back without a router — it still works —, or “—” if its firmware does not say), Firmware, Contact, Série lue · profil (Serial read · profile) and État (State: the machine’s state, sans contact (no contact), or remplacement à confirmer (replacement to confirm)).

  • Rechercher un boîtier (Search for a device) by machine or identifier, and filter by addressing: Tous (All), DHCP, Statique (Static), Non dit (Not stated).
  • A banner flags devices en attente d’adoption (awaiting adoption), with an Adopter → (Adopt →) link.

No address is ever typed on a device: it takes its address on the venue network and finds the server on its own.

Among several devices, click Faire sonner (Ring) on its row: the device rings for about ten seconds and shows “C’EST MOI” (IT’S ME) on its screen. If its buzzer is set to silent, only the screen shows it.

When an adopted device reads a different serial from the one on the record, it moves to the À trancher (To decide) section, marked remplacement à confirmer (replacement to confirm) (an alert flags it too). Nothing changes until it is decided. Three cases:

Situation Action Who
The machine was replaced Confirmer le remplacement… (Confirm the replacement…): the record takes the new serial and a meter break is dated. Administrator
The serial on the record was wrong Ce n’est pas un remplacement… (This is not a replacement…): the record takes the serial read, with no break. Administrator
The device was moved to another machine Boîtier déplacé : détacher… (Device moved: detach…), or Déplacer ce boîtier… (Move this device…) from the record. Operations

Exploitation → Machines → the machine → Boîtier (Operations → Machines → the machine → Device) shows Ce que la fiche montre (What the record shows): identifier, Source de l’uid (uid source), Firmware, Dernier contact (Last contact), Profil du boîtier (Device profile), identity and SAS link, Série lue (Serial read), N° d’actif lu (Asset no. read), adoption date and Première annonce (First announcement).

  1. First plug the plate into the new machine (or unplug it from the old one): as soon as it is moved, the device counts for the destination machine.
  2. On the record of the machine it is leaving, Boîtier (Device) tab, click Déplacer ce boîtier… (Move this device…).
  3. Choose the Machine d’arrivée (Destination machine) (or, as administrator, create it), write the Motif (Reason), then confirm Déplacer le boîtier (Move the device).

The machine it left goes offline; the device erases the old machine’s memory and restarts (about 15 s) on the new one. The move is written to the log of both machines. It is refused, with nothing changed, while a money order is not concluded on either machine.

Détacher… (Detach…): the device forgets its identifier and goes back to Boîtiers en attente (Pending devices); the machine goes offline. A reason is required. Same safeguard: no detaching while a money order is not concluded.

Vue d’ensemble → Commandes du boîtier → Redémarrer le boîtier… (Overview → Device commands → Restart the device…) (see Machines). This also works for a pulse machine. The device refuses on its own if it is busy (game, win to pay, transfer in progress): nothing is lost, try again at the end of the game.

Administrator only, from a machine’s Boîtier (Device) tab or from the card of a pending device.

  1. Click Remettre la carte à neuf… (Reset the board to new…).
  2. Write the reason (board to reuse elsewhere, memory to empty…).
  3. Retype the device identifier: the Remettre la carte à neuf (Reset the board to new) button only becomes active if the retyped identifier is exact.

The board erases its machine’s memory (meters, log, pending manual payment, plate), keeps its type and its network, restarts and goes back to the pending devices. The state shows live: envoyé … — en attente du boîtier (sent … — waiting for the device), then fait (done), refusé (refused, with the reason), sans réponse du boîtier (no answer from the device) or redémarré — remise à neuf non confirmée (restarted — reset not confirmed).

If an empty board arrives on an attached plate, or if a plate’s board goes into another plate, an alert flags it on the machine concerned. Transfers already sent to the old board are suspended: they never restart on their own. Check the machine, then decide them in Transfers.
