Coin (pulse) machines

A coin machine (called “pulse”) does not receive an amount: it receives coins, which its device sends one by one. Lucky Touch handles three types: Bally S5500, Bally V5500 and Sigma Poker. They appear in the grid like the other machines, with their type on the tile (S5500, V5500, Sigma).

Line What it says
Solde du boîtier (Device balance) / Crédit sur le boîtier (Credit on the device) The player’s money that the device holds (an S5500, or a V5500 / Sigma in player-button mode).
non mesuré (not measured) A V5500 or a Sigma in direct register mode does not publish a balance: never “0 Ar”.
1 pièce = … (1 coin = …) The value of one coin on this machine. Every amount sent is a multiple of it.
Dernière partie (Last game) (S5500) The bet and the win of the last game, in coins (“mise 2”, bet 2, “+60 pièces”, +60 coins, “Paiement…”, Paying…, while a win is being paid), to compare with the machine’s screen.
Jeu automatique en marche (Auto-play running) (S5500) Auto-play is running; the tile carries the auto badge.
  1. Créditer (Credit), then the machine, the payment mode and the amount, as for any other machine (Credit a machine).
  2. If the amount is a multiple of the coin, nothing changes: Vérifier (Check), then Créditer.
  3. Otherwise, the register says so under the amount (“Pas un multiple de la pièce (…) : …”, Not a multiple of the coin (…): …) and offers the two nearest multiples. The Ce qui s’encaisse sur cette machine (What this machine can take in) block gives the Encaissable (Can be taken in), the Reste à rendre au joueur (Remainder to give back to the player) and, if there is one, the Arrondi supérieur (Round up). Choose:
    • Encaisser … (Take in …): only the part that can be taken in goes to the machine; you give the remainder back to the player;
    • Arrondir à … (Round to …): the player makes up the difference (“le joueur complète …”, the player adds …).
  4. Vérifier recalls the choice: the amount En pièces (In coins) (“5 pièces × 2 000 Ar”, 5 coins × 2,000 Ar) and, if there is one, the Reste à rendre au joueur (“500 Ar (sur 10 500 Ar reçus)”, 500 Ar (out of 10,500 Ar received)).
  5. At the verdict, the register says it again: “Rendez 500 Ar au joueur : le reste du montant reçu, jamais encaissé.” (Give 500 Ar back to the player: the remainder of the amount received, never taken in.)

The remainder never leaves the drawer without having been received: it is given back from the amount the player has just handed over. Paid with mobile money, the remainder is given back “par le geste habituel du mode, jamais depuis le tiroir” (by the usual action for the mode, never from the drawer); funded by an intake, it stays on the intake.

On a coin machine, the register calls the credit sent to the machine a dépôt (coin deposit) — not to be confused with a deposit to the safe. Its verdict is also given in coins: for example a full coin deposit proven by the device, or a partial one (“7 pièces sur 10”, 7 coins out of 10) when the machine stopped part way — the door opened, for example. Only the proven coins are credited; the rest goes back to the intake. A coin deposit on a V5500 takes a few seconds longer: the register is waiting for the proof, it is not a failure.

On a V5500 or a Sigma in player-button mode, the credit first goes to the device: the verdict says so (the player presses Transfert (Transfer) to send it down into the machine). Nothing else to do at the register.

Message What to do
“Un paiement manuel attend sur la D-01 : jamais créditer par-dessus — réglez-le d’abord.” (A manual payment is waiting on D-01: never credit on top of it — settle it first.) Settle the manual payment (Pulse manual payment).
“Un ordre pulse va de 1 à 30000 pièces : … au plus par ordre sur cette machine.” (A pulse order goes from 1 to 30,000 coins: … at most per order on this machine.) Split the amount into several orders.
“Aucune limite de transfert pulse n’est réglée pour la salle : tout ordre vers une machine pulse est refusé (réglage au back-office).” (No pulse transfer limit is set for the venue: any order to a pulse machine is refused (setting in the back office).) Tell operations: it is a safety setting to make in the back office.
“La machine n’est pas encore prête : la valeur d’une pièce est inconnue (à régler sur sa fiche au back-office).” (The machine is not ready yet: the value of a coin is unknown (to set on its card in the back office).) Tell operations.
“EN TEST — mise en service par un technicien : pas de crédit” (IN TEST — being commissioned by a technician: no credit) Wait until commissioning is over.
Machine How the player is paid
Bally S5500 Its balance is in the device: an exact withdrawal, proven by the device. Tap Retirer du boîtier (Withdraw from the device) on the machine’s card (or Retirer, Withdraw).
V5500 / Sigma in player-button mode Retirer du boîtier takes back a credit that was sent but that the player did not send down: “Un crédit oublié sur le boîtier se reprend ici, prouvé par le boîtier.” (A credit forgotten on the device is taken back here, proven by the device.)
V5500 / Sigma in direct register mode No withdrawal: “la machine se bloque et la caisse règle le joueur en paiement manuel” (the machine locks and the register pays the player by manual payment). See Pulse manual payment.
  1. Pick the machine, then tap Retirer du boîtier.
  2. Mode de paiement (Payment mode), then Montant (Amount) (at most the balance shown).
  3. Vérifier: “Repris du boîtier de la D-01 : le client est payé” (Taken back from the device of D-01: the customer is paid).
  4. Tap Retirer du boîtier …, read the verdict, pay the player the amount withdrawn.

A withdrawal beyond what the device holds is refused (“Le boîtier de la machine … ne garde que … : retrait de … refusé — retirez au plus ce solde.”, The device of machine … only holds …: withdrawal of … refused — withdraw at most this balance.). A withdrawal must also be a multiple of the coin: the sentence offers the amounts to withdraw.
