Pulse machines

A pulse machine does not speak the SAS protocol: the device counts the coin, bet and win pulses. Lucky Touch follows three types: Bally S5500, Bally V5500 and Sigma Poker. Their machine record has its own blocks; this page describes them. For the rest of the record, see Machines.

A pulse machine whose type has not been chosen has no tracking: its record shows Machine pulse — type non choisi (Pulse machine — type not chosen) and the Choisir son type (Choose its type) button. On the record, Paramètres (Settings) tab, the Type de machine (Machine type) block shows the Type, the Valeur d’une pièce (Coin value) and, for a V5500 or a Sigma, Dénomination × crédits (Denomination × credits) (coin value = the machine’s denomination × its credits per pulse).

  1. Click Changer le type ou la valeur d’une pièce… (Change the type or the coin value…) (V5500 / Sigma: Changer le type, la dénomination ou les crédits…, Change the type, the denomination or the credits…). Administrator only.
  2. Choose the type, enter the value (or the two numbers), and a reason if you wish.
  3. Save. The configuration is sent back to the device.

The Réglages pulse de cette machine (Pulse settings for this machine) block lets you, for each setting of the type, keep Comme la salle (Same as the venue) or give a Valeur propre (Own value) (with an optional reason, written to the audit log). The venue values are set in Settings, devices group, “Machines pulse” (Pulse machines).

État en direct (Live state): state, type, coin value, Solde du boîtier (Device balance) (for a machine where the player moves their credit down with the Transfer button), Porte (Door) and Jeu automatique (Auto play) (S5500), Paiement hopper (Hopper payment), last event, transfer in progress, Dernière photographie (Latest snapshot) of the meters and Dernier contact (Last contact). For an S5500, the Dernière partie (Last game) box shows the coins bet and won, to compare with the machine’s screen (never added to the balance).

Machine pulse — ce qui est mesuré (Pulse machine — what is measured): only what the type measures. What it does not measure is absent, never shown as zero. A V5500 or a Sigma on direct register shows “crédit non mesuré” (credit not measured).

The banners that may appear:

Banner What to do
Machine EN TEST (mise en service) (Machine IN TEST, commissioning) The machine is in test mode. See Machine tests.
Porte ouverte depuis (Door open since) 14:32:05 Bets and payments are blocked while the door is open.
Compteurs du boîtier en désaccord avec le serveur (Device meters disagree with the server) The device’s drops and withdrawals do not match what the server credited. Nothing is corrected on its own: compare with the machine’s transfers.
Mise incertaine à trancher / Gain incertain à trancher (Uncertain bet to decide / Uncertain win to decide) See Decide uncertain coins below.
n paiements manuels (pulse) en attente (n manual payments, pulse, pending) See Manual payments.
Changement de mode en attente (Mode change pending) The device has not yet taken the new transfer mode.
À compléter (To complete) The coin value of an older machine could not be split into denomination × credits: give the two numbers.
Solde du boîtier non établi (Device balance not established) See Confirm the device balance.
Paiement manuel gardé par le boîtier (Manual payment held by the device) See Clear the device block.

When the device could not prove a bet or a win, it reports uncertain coins. An uncertain bet is counted as bet as long as nobody decides; an uncertain win is not counted.

  1. On the banner, click Trancher… (Decide…).
  2. Choose:
    • Les pièces comptées sont justes (The counted coins are right): nothing moves;
    • Rendu au joueur (Returned to the player): enter the Pièces rendues (Coins returned) and point to the acte d’argent déjà fait (money action already done) that returned them (a complimentary credit of exactly that amount, made after the finding).
  3. Write the Motif (Reason), then confirm. The decision is written to the audit log. No money moves here.

If the server cannot establish the device balance, the Solde du boîtier non établi (Device balance not established) banner offers to confirm it. In front of the machine, in the venue back office:

  1. Read the number of coins shown on the device screen.
  2. Click the banner button, enter the Pièces lues sur l’écran du boîtier (Coins read on the device screen) (0 if the screen shows 0) and the reason.
  3. Click Confirmer le solde (Confirm the balance).

This action creates and moves no money: you attest what the screen shows. It is written to the audit log.

A V5500 or a Sigma holds the block of a manual payment. When the payment is settled but the device is still blocking, the Paiement manuel gardé par le boîtier (Manual payment held by the device) banner offers Lever le blocage du boîtier (Clear the device block).

  1. Check the machine on site: no jackpot and no manual payment on display.
  2. Click Lever le blocage du boîtier (Clear the device block), write the Motif (Reason: what you checked), then Lever le blocage (Clear the block).
  3. The banner changes to Levée du blocage demandée (Block clearing requested) until the device answers.

No money moves.

Reset a false manual payment or a false jackpot

Section titled “Reset a false manual payment or a false jackpot”

Electrical noise or a cable can make the device believe a manual payment was requested (or, on a Sigma, a jackpot): the machine blocks for nothing. On any pulse machine, the banner then offers Réinitialiser (faux paiement manuel)… (Reset, false manual payment…) or, for a Sigma’s jackpot signal, Réinitialiser (faux jackpot)… (Reset, false jackpot…).

  1. Check the machine: if it shows a payment or a jackpot, it is real — pay it at the register, do not reset.
  2. Click the button, read the warning, write the Motif (Reason: what you checked on the machine).
  3. Click Réinitialiser (Reset).

The manual payment is cancelled and, on a V5500 or a Sigma, the device unblocks the machine. No money moves.

When the player moves their own credit down into the machine (Transfer button), each move is a player transfer. They are read and decided in Transfers, Transferts du joueur (Player transfers) view (there is also a link on the record: Transferts du joueur de cette machine, This machine’s player transfers).

The Événements (Events) tab lists the Événements de la machine pulse (Pulse machine events), with filters: Paiements manuels et cash-out (Manual payments and cash-out), Pièces incertaines (Uncertain coins), Mises (Bets), Hopper, Jeu automatique (Auto play), Porte (Door), Compteurs du boîtier (Device meters), Transfert du joueur (Player transfer). The Compteurs (Meters) tab shows the Journée comptable (Accounting day) and the Historique des compteurs pulse (Pulse meter history).

The QR de la machine (Machine QR) (to stick on the machine, to prove a manual payment photo) is described in Machine tests.
