Updates and backups

Updates and backups run on their own, at night. When one fails, an alert says so in the back office, with the cause. Operations staff read it, restart what can be restarted with a button, and call the technician or the publisher for the rest — never a terminal for the operator.

Server updates

Screen: Paramètres (Settings) → Mises à jour (Updates) (administrator). See Updates and register devices.

The alert or screen says	What happened	What to do
“Retour arrière le … : … — version … remise, aucune donnée perdue.” (Rolled back on …: … — version … put back, no data lost.)	The new version did not pass its checks; the old one was put back on its own.	Nothing urgent: the venue is running. Request the update again later; if it happens again, tell the publisher.
“Mise à jour … échouée le … et retour arrière INCOMPLET : …” (Update … failed on … and rollback INCOMPLETE: …) (Échec — intervention nécessaire (Failed — action required))	The server has stayed in maintenance.	Call the publisher straight away.
“Le service de mise à jour du serveur (lt-updater) ne répond pas : aucune mise à jour par bouton — redémarrer le PC de la salle, sinon appeler le technicien” (The server’s update service (lt-updater) is not responding: no button updates — restart the venue PC, otherwise call the technician)	The service that installs versions and makes backups has stopped.	Restart the venue PC (outside gaming hours); otherwise, the technician.
Reportée (Postponed): “Mise à jour … reportée : …” (Update … postponed: …)	A transfer was in progress, or a register had just been used.	Nothing: it retries on its own, the following night if needed.
Version trop ancienne (Version too old)	The platform expects a more recent version; uploads are waiting.	Update as soon as possible. Nothing is lost.

Register updates

Screen: Paramètres (Settings) → Postes de caisse (Register devices) (operations) or the Postes de caisse (Register devices) tab of Paramètres (Settings) → Mises à jour (Updates) (administrator).

The alert says	What to do
“La caisse « … » n’a pas pu passer en … (…) : elle reste en …” (The register “…” could not move to … (…): it stays on …)	The device keeps running its version. Try again from the register (Mettre à jour (Update), out of service); if it happens again, the technician.
A tablet says “Réinstallation une fois nécessaire (changement de clé de signature)” (One-time reinstallation needed (signing key change))	The technician uninstalls and reinstalls the register on the tablet (Install a register).
A tablet says “Installation non autorisée sur cette tablette” (Installation not allowed on this tablet)	Allow installation from the register in the Android settings, then try again.

Backups

Screen: Paramètres (Settings) → Sauvegardes (Backups) (administrator, venue back office). See Backups and restore.

The alert says	What to do
“Sauvegardes ARRÊTÉES : la phrase de restauration n’est pas posée” (Backups STOPPED: the recovery phrase is not set)	Critical. An administrator sets the phrase (Phrase de restauration (Recovery phrase) card).
“Sauvegarde ÉCHOUÉE … : …” (Backup FAILED …: …)	Read the cause (Dernier échec (Last failure)), then Sauvegarder maintenant… (Back up now…). If it fails again, the technician.
“Sauvegarde INCOMPLÈTE … : il manque …” (Backup INCOMPLETE …: … is missing)	Run Sauvegarder maintenant… (Back up now…) again; if it persists, the technician.
“Disque du PC presque plein (… libres) : les sauvegardes vont échouer” (PC disk almost full (… free): backups will fail)	The technician frees up space; or reduce “Sauvegardes gardées sur le PC” (Backups kept on the PC) (Paramètres (Settings) → Réglages (Settings), backups group).
“Aucune sauvegarde réussie depuis plus de 36 h …” (No successful backup for more than 36 hours …)	Was the PC off during the night? Run Sauvegarder maintenant… (Back up now…).
“Aucune clé USB adoptée …” (No USB stick adopted …) / “Aucune copie sur une clé USB adoptée depuis plus de 7 jours” (No copy to an adopted USB stick for more than 7 days)	Plug in the venue’s stick (or swap it); adopt one in the Clés USB (USB sticks) tab.
“Aucun essai de restauration réussi depuis plus de 30 jours …” (No successful restore test for more than 30 days …)	Essayer cette sauvegarde (Test this backup) on the most recent one.
“Essai de restauration ÉCHOUÉ … : …” (Restore test FAILED …: …)	Tell the technician: a backup that does not open protects nothing.
“Service de sauvegarde absent ou à mettre à jour …” (Backup service missing or needs updating …) / “Service de sauvegarde en panne : …” (Backup service down: …)	The technician.

The time limits (36 hours, 7 days, 30 days) are the defaults and can be set in Paramètres (Settings) → Réglages (Settings), backups group.

After a restore

The alert says	What to do
“Après la restauration du … : N chose(s) à faire — …” (After the restore of …: N thing(s) to do — …)	Follow the À faire après la restauration (To do after the restore) list (Restaurer (Restore) tab).
“Restauration échouée … : état d’avant remis, aucune donnée perdue” (Restore failed …: previous state put back, no data lost)	The venue has gone back to its previous state. Tell the technician before trying again.
“Restauration ÉCHOUÉE …” (Restore FAILED …)	The technician.
“Serveur VERROUILLÉ : une restauration a échoué et le retour à l’état d’avant n’a pas abouti …” (Server LOCKED: a restore failed and the return to the previous state did not succeed …)	Critical: no update, no backup, no reopening of the registers. Call the technician straight away.
