Register FAQ
The register always says why it refuses, in a sentence, with the name of the machine, tablet or intake at fault. The sentences below are the screen’s own (in French, followed by a translation); some words may differ depending on your venue’s settings (register wording).
I cannot close my register
Section titled “I cannot close my register”The closing screen lists what is blocking it. The usual cases:
| The screen says | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Des tablettes rattachées n’ont pas tout rendu : …” (Linked tablets have not handed everything in: …) | Each tablet named must first hand in its cash (you count it and confirm), then be unlinked. See Link a tablet, its ceiling. |
| “Des encaissements ont encore un reste : …” (Some intakes still have a remainder: …) | Finish crediting, refund the customer, or leave the remainder as a debt (it will remain owed by the venue, with its code). |
| “Un transfert sur la machine … n’est pas conclu : résolvez-le avant de clôturer.” (A transfer on machine … is not settled: resolve it before closing.) | Wait for the machine’s proof. If it stays uncertain, operations staff settle it in the back office (Transferts (Transfers)). |
| “Des encaissements sont SUR-ENGAGÉS …” (Some intakes are OVER-COMMITTED …) | Operations staff must regularise them in the back office before the closing. |
| “Écart (manque de …) au-dessus du seuil — tentative 1/3. Recomptez.” (Discrepancy (short by …) above the threshold — attempt 1/3. Recount.) | Recount the drawer. On the last attempt (3 by default), the closing goes through with the discrepancy recorded. |
| “Le théorique a changé depuis votre comptage : … → …” (The expected amount has changed since your count: … → …) | A proof arrived while you were counting: check the new expected amount and recount if needed. |
If the closing stays blocked (an unreachable tablet, for example), operations staff can force the closing from the back office, with a reason: see Register sessions. The full steps are in X report and closing.
The tablet refuses to sign out
Section titled “The tablet refuses to sign out”The tablet shows for example “125,000 Ar en espèces à remettre : déconnexion impossible” (125,000 Ar in cash to hand in: sign-out impossible). This is intentional: nobody leaves with the venue’s money. Make the hand-in at the main register: the tablet requests it, the main register counts the notes and confirms. As soon as the tablet no longer holds any cash, sign-out goes through. See Working on the tablet.
While the hand-in is waiting for the main register, the status says “remise … en attente de confirmation” (hand-in … awaiting confirmation). A hand-in discrepancy (“écart de remise de … (manque) à régulariser par l’exploitation” — hand-in discrepancy of … (short) to be regularised by operations) is settled by operations staff in the back office (Caisses (Registers) → Tablettes (Tablets)).
“Un crédit de … est déjà en cours sur la machine …” (A credit of … is already in progress on machine …)
Section titled ““Un crédit de … est déjà en cours sur la machine …” (A credit of … is already in progress on machine …)”Only one money order at a time per machine. Wait for the outcome of the first one (a few seconds normally). If the machine does not answer, the order becomes uncertain: it has neither succeeded nor failed, and only operations staff can settle it in the back office, after checking on the machine. See Money discrepancies.
“PIN invalide.” (Invalid PIN.) or sign-in blocked
Section titled ““PIN invalide.” (Invalid PIN.) or sign-in blocked”- PIN invalide. (Invalid PIN.): check the code, or sign in with a password (switch between Mot de passe (Password) and Code PIN (PIN code) on the sign-in screen).
- “Trop de tentatives de connexion : la connexion par mot de passe est bloquée quelques minutes.” (Too many sign-in attempts: password sign-in is blocked for a few minutes.): wait, or ask an administrator to reset your password (Users).
The register is greyed out: “Mise à jour du serveur en cours” (Server update in progress)
Section titled “The register is greyed out: “Mise à jour du serveur en cours” (Server update in progress)”The venue server is updating (a few minutes). Money actions are greyed out and nothing is replayed on its own. The register resumes on its own, where it left off. An order sent before the interruption is read back when the server returns. See When the link drops.
“Cette caisse doit être mise à jour” (This register must be updated)
Section titled ““Cette caisse doit être mise à jour” (This register must be updated)”The register is too old for the venue server. Tap Mettre à jour (Update): your session stays on the server and resumes afterwards. When the update is only offered (“Nouvelle version de la caisse disponible” — New register version available), it waits until the register is out of service. See Register updates.
“Aucun serveur trouvé sur ce réseau” (No server found on this network)
Section titled ““Aucun serveur trouvé sur ce réseau” (No server found on this network)”The register cannot find the venue server: is the tablet on the right Wi-Fi? Is the venue PC on? If it persists, call your technician (Venue network).
